  • Absentee Voting Begins: September 26th

  • You can register to vote and vote in person on Election Day at your city or township clerk’s office. You’ll need to bring your proof of residency.

    Register to Vote Online

    To be eligible to register to vote you must be:

    • A Michigan resident (at the time you register) and a resident of your city or township for at least 30 days (when you vote)

    • A United States citizen

    • At least 18 years of age (when you vote)

    • Not currently serving a sentence in jail or prison

    Proof of residency:

    You must show proof of where you live. Documents must have your name and current address. You can show a digital copy of documents. Acceptable documents include:

    • Michigan driver’s license or state ID

    • Current utility bill

    • Bank statement

    • Paycheck or government check

    • Other government document

  • Voters with photo ID:

    • Michigan driver’s license

    • Michigan personal identification card

    • Driver’s license or personal ID card issued by another state

    • Federal, state, or local government-issued photo ID

    • U.S. passport

    • Military photo ID card

    • Student photo ID card from an educational institution

    • Tribal photo ID card

    Voters without photo ID:

    Michigan election law anticipates that not all voters will have photo ID. Voters who do not have acceptable photo ID or forgot to bring acceptable photo ID to the polls can vote like any other voter by signing an affidavit.

  • Michigan is a "no excuse state" meaning you don't need a reason to vote early by mail.

    1. Be a registered voter in the state of Michigan

    2. Fill out a Let It Resound Pledge to Vote Card

    3. Send an Absent Voter Application to your county election office by mail, fax, or in person; OR, complete an online application.

    4. Track your ballot on VoterIndex to ensure it will arrive in time to be filled out and returned by close of polls on Election Day.

    5. Once received, fill out your ballot in accordance with the printed instructions accompanying your ballot.

    6. Return your ballot by mail, drop it off in person at your local elections office, or drop it off at one of the designated drop box locations.

    7. Track your ballot on VoterView to ensure it will arrived by close of polls on Election Day.

      • If your local office hasn't recieved your ballot, reach out as soon as possible to fix any issues.

    8. Make sure all your friends, family, and neighbors have also voted in this election cycle.
